Three people escaped injury in a crash on Highway 3 Saturday afternoon after a driver in a 1991 Lexus LS40 spun out of control after hitting a patch of water and collided with a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban towing an Airstream travel trailer.

The accident left Highway 3 blocked for 90 minutes.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened just before 3 p.m. Saturday about a half mile west of Poulsbo city limits.

The driver of the Lexus was heading north on Highway 3 just south of Highway 305 when he drove through standing water on the roadway and lost control.

The vehicle spun into the Chevy Suburban, also headed north, which then started to spin, and the travel trailer being towed by the Suburban tipped over onto its side.

The driver of the Suburban, a 60-year-old Bremerton woman, was not hurt.

The driver of the Lexus, a 25-year-old Bainbridge Island man, also escaped injuries, as did his passenger, a 24-year-old Bainbridge woman.

The Bainbridge driver was charged with speeding too fast for conditions.
