9 p.m. A Bainbridge Island woman reported five fraudulent charges had been made using her Capital One credit card, which had not been previously lost or stolen.

The charges, which began on Aug. 18 and continued through Aug. 22, totaled $17,156.

She was told to make a police report.

SUNDAY, AUG. 21

8:54 p.m. Police responded to a call regarding a possible burglary in progress at an abandoned house on Grow Avenue.

The man who called police knew the identity of the person in the building, he said, as this person had been there before.

Police entered the house and found a 29-year-old Bainbridge Island man they recognized from “numerous contacts,” who said he had been staying in the

building for the previous two nights.

When asked who owned the house the man said he did not know.

He was arrested for trespassing.
