Bainbridge blotter | Stranger in the hood and attempted burglary

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 27

8:03 a.m. Police were called to a home on Sunrise Drive NE to investigate an apparent attempted burglary.

The owner of the house told police he and his wife had only just moved to Bainbridge and were still unpacking boxes, many of which were in the garage. He left early that day and returned to find the side door of the garage “wide open,” he said, and boxes that had been against the wall had been moved.

Nothing appeared to have been stolen, and there were no signs of forced entry at the door.

Neighbors told the man they’d seen suspicious man in the area in the previous week, who did not speak with anyone when they attempted to contact him.

There are no suspects.
