Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter:

Monday, Nov. 3

9:40 a.m. The passenger side tire to a cargo truck was found knifed on Halloween night. The truck belongs to a Bainbridge business.

Wednesday, Nov. 5

9:33 a.m. A woman was driving home along Point White when she approached a jogger on the road. There was another car in the oncoming lane and a second vehicle tailgating her. She made it past the jogger, but apparently he had to step off to the side of the road.

The car behind her then followed her to her house and up the long driveway. The driver scolded the woman for nearly running the jogger off the road.

Police contacted the driver the next day and told him not to follow anyone home like that again.

12:18 p.m. Car prowlers entered a vehicle parked at the Harbor Square Condominiums garage. The car was unlocked at the time, and the owner said she returned to her vehicle to find items that were in the console and glove box sitting on the seats. About $1 of change and a library card were taken.

Saturday, Nov. 8

12:39 p.m. Two bicycles locked at the Bainbridge boat launch were found with all four tires slashed. The bike owners estimated it would cost about $200 to replace the tires.

Sunday, Nov. 9

11:10 p.m. Strange noises were heard outside a waterfront home. The homeowner first heard what sounded like yelling, then someone possibly walking or running on her gravel driveway.

The woman told officers that she recently sold her home and had to notify her handyman, who lives in the guest house, that he would have to move out. He became upset.

Just before police responded to her report of strange noises outside her house, the handyman called and said, “If you think you are tired now, wait till I get through with you. You are going to be really tired. It’s really going to (be) bad.”

The homeowner said that he sounded intoxicated. Despite his comments, she said she did not believe he was making the strange noises outside her home.
