11:27 p.m. Police were called in when a couple got into an argument. The girlfriend said that she wanted officers to go to her boyfriend’s residence and retrieve her phone to “keep the peace.” But the boyfriend said that the phone and service was in his name and he only let his girlfriend use it from time to time. He said he was not giving the phone back.

Wednesday, March 13

10:13 a.m. A woman purchased a home next door to where she grew up on New Sweden Avenue. Recently a man she recognized as someone who lived in the house years ago had been showing up and wandering around the driveway and the front yard.

The man told neighbors that he was moving back into the house and the new owners were fixing a room up for him. The woman assured police that this was not true. Police discovered that the man lives in the Gorst area, and recently got out of jail. His probation officer told police that the man has mental issues and is a Level 3 sex offender.

10:47 a.m. A power line was snagged by a delivery truck passing underneath on High School Road and Sands Avenue. The power line snapped and fell across the road. The truck driver didn’t realize he snagged the line and kept on driving.

Police and Puget Sound Energy technicians discovered that the power line went to a house. The insulator that connected the line to the house was broken and someone had used rope to hold the power line up. But over time the rope loosened and the power line sagged causing the truck to snag it. The homeowner was advised that they need to have the insulator properly repaired.

Thursday, March 14

11:42 a.m. Someone stole the Martin Luther King Jr street sign that was recently installed at the high school. The sign was sawed off at the base.

11:43 a.m. A Kingston woman said her identity had been stolen and her credit card was used to make fraudulent purchases. The only place she recently used the card was on Bainbridge Island so she reported it to police in case of identity theft.

2 p.m. Mailboxes were found torn down on Tolo Road.
