Tuesday, Nov. 26

3 p.m. A citizen told police that she had been receiving suspicious phone calls over the last three months. She suspects that the calls are connected to a former employee of her husband’s medical practice.

According to the citizen, the manager of the front office of her husband’s business walked off the job last summer. Prior to walking off the job, the manager had told her that she wanted to slap her and would openly taunt her. Police were also advised that the manager filed for unemployment prior to leaving the practice under the claim that she left because of lack of work and that she was fired. The matter is presently in litigation.

Since the manager has left the practice, the business owners have been receiving calls at home, the office and on their cellphones. When answered, no one is on the other line.

Wednesday Nov. 27

3:31 p.m. Police responded to a report of an injured deer at an island residence. The deer was on the front driveway of the home. The homeowner told police that the deer had been on the property for nearly two days. he animal made numerous attempts to escape but was unable to stand or walk.

Police contacted a few neighbors and a dog walker on the street and informed them of a pending “animal dispatch” and gunshot noise. Police cleared the area and fired one shot into the animal.

Public works was called to remove the animal.
