Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter:

Wednesday, Sept. 24

9:29 a.m. A city employee found a green duffel bag being used to prop open the door to the women’s restroom at Waterfront Park. Inside the bag were needles and small tins that smelled of burnt marijuana.

Thursday, Sept. 25

8:16 p.m. A couple found their home was burglarized while they were gone for the day. When they returned, they found cabinets and drawers open in the master bedroom and bathroom, office, kitchen and living room. Items inside were removed and left out.

While all the doors and windows were locked, the sliding window in the master bedroom was lifted off its rails and pushed forward.

There was no apparent damage or fingerprints, but the window screen had been removed and left on the ground outside.

The couple believed that some watches and jewelry were stolen.
