Monday, July 23

7:29 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Bergman Road after a repo man backed his truck into a woman, twice.

The repo man had come to repossess a truck that was owned by the resident’s soon to be ex-husband’s business. She wasn’t about to let the repo man take her vehicle so she drove it around to another end of her home while she called her husband.

While the woman was moving the truck, the woman’s sister went to the rear of the repo man’s truck to write down his license plate number. As she did this, the repo man backed his truck, bumping into her. He then pulled forward slightly and backed up again, this time knocking the sister to the ground.

The sister told police that she was confident that the repo man saw her as he looked in her direction as he backed up into her.

The repo man then left the scene.

Police ran the license plate number that the sister wrote down but it did not match any vehicle in the state.

Police told the women that if the repo man returned to call 911 and police would respond.

Tuesday, July 24

5:40 a.m. A resident at the Winslow Wharf reported that someone was playing music loudly on their boat. When police arrived they found a boat that had Led Zeppelin blaring from inside. Police contacted the owner inside the boat, who was not defiant, but slightly incoherent. Police believe he was hungover. He was given a warning.

Wednesday, July 25

9:07 a.m. A resident on New Brooklyn Road reported that a burglary occurred at his home sometime overnight. The resident’s house guest placed his wallet, cell phone and iTouch on the dresser in his guest room before going to bed around midnight. When he awoke, the items were gone.

11:32 a.m. A man reported to police that 15 campaign signs he placed around the island were missing. The man was placing signs for Republican candidates running for various positions in the current election. Each sign was valued at $15.
