Art dedication at Owen’s Playground

Three beautiful art installations at Owen’s Playground will be dedicated later this month in a day of storytelling, song and dance.

The dedication is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at the park on Weaver Road.

Visitors can meet the artists of “Hannah’s Mural” (Nick Mann and Kendall Turner), “The Community Peace Pole” (conceived by Turner but made possible by community members of all ages and abilities), and “Caregiver” (Craig Jacobrown).

There will be a special performance by guest George Taylor, First Nations singer and storyteller, who is visiting from the Kwakwaka’wakw Nation in British Columbia. Taylor will lead a blessing performance.

The event promises to be exciting and family-friendly. Light refreshments will be served.
