The annual community Christmas tree lighting celebration returned to downtown Winslow Saturday, Nov. 28, welcoming the holiday season back to Bainbridge with songs and cheer — despite the chill.

The event capped an all-day holiday open house, which started at 10 a.m. and featured free horse-drawn carriage rides, a musical performance from the Figgy Pudding Peddlers and a special appearance by Santa Claus himself.

The gathering was hosted by the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association.
