Bainbridge-based rockers The Refusers are playing a benefit concert at the Crocodile Bar in Seattle at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, to help raise awareness about Initiative 522 the on-going legal struggle to properly label genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

“This is going to be a great rock benefit show,” said Michael Belkin, lead singer/guitarist for The Refusers. “Prop 522 is a big issue right now.”

Also featured in the show’s lineup are rock acts Midori and Ezra Boy as well as Garage Heroes and special guest speaker Pamm Larry, who has been called “the Erin Brokovich of GMO awareness.”

The Refusers recently performed at the 2013 Bottle Rock music festival in Napa Valley, Calif. which featured performances by Kings of Leon, The Black Keys and the Zac Brown Band among others.

Tickets are available now at the reduced rate of $10 each at http://www.thecrocodile.com/ or at the door for $12. This event is appropriate for all ages.

“If you like to rock and you resent Monsanto this show is for you,” Belkin said.
