Organizers of “The Winter Ring” planetarium show scheduled for Jan. 10 at the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory said Monday the event has been canceled due to a conflict with the Seahawks playoff football game.

Shows at the observatory are put on by the Battle Point Astronomical Association, a nonprofit amateur astronomy organization that operates the Ritchie Observatory and John H. Rudolph Planetarium in the Helix House at Battle Point Park.

The Seahawks will take on the Carolina Panthers at CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Saturday in the NFC divisional playoff round. Seattle is seeking its second straight Super Bowl appearance after winning the championship last year.
