Local scribe releases suspenseful sequel

Former island resident Burt Weissbourd’s second Corey Logan mystery novel, “Teaser,” is now available.

Former island resident Burt Weissbourd’s second Corey Logan mystery novel, “Teaser,” is now available.

The sequel to the much-praised “Inside Passage,” this latest thriller sees the title character delve into the interconnected worlds of private school kids and young runaways who roam Seattle’s streets.

Billy attends the Olympic Academy, where two friends, Maisie and Aaron, are experimenting with sex and drugs.

They’ve become close to Star, a streetwise seductress who leads them down a treacherous path. Despite the best efforts of Abe and Corey, Maisie is abducted by the diabolical “Teaser,” a man determined to take revenge on her father, his former cell mate.

Teaser is a mystery to everyone except Abe and Corey, who alone realize what they must do to rescue Maisie, and they contrive a plan that shocks even themselves.

Weissbourd is a novelist, screenwriter and film producer who resided on South Beach Drive until 1994. Corey Logan, the central character of both books, also lives on Bainbridge Island.

The third book in the series, “Minos,” will be released next year.

Weissbourd is also the author of “In Velvet,” which ForeWord Reviews called “thrilling” and full of “nail-biting tension.”

The new novel is available at Eagle Harbor Book Company in Winslow.
