Island restaurateur celebrates book launch

There will be a celebratory dinner to honor the reissued culinary memoir “In Season: Culinary Adventures of a Pacific Northwest Chef” by Chef Greg Atkinson, of Bainbridge Island’s Restaurant Marche, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 17.

There will be a celebratory dinner to honor the reissued culinary memoir “In Season: Culinary Adventures of a Pacific Northwest Chef” by Chef Greg Atkinson, of Bainbridge Island’s Restaurant Marche, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 17.

The book features chapters for each season of the year which divide 35 essays and 70 recipes, including risotto with asparagus, saffron and morels (spring), fresh strawberry sorbet (summer), roast chicken with herbs (fall) and kale sautéed in amber butter (winter).

The new edition of the book features color photography by Charity Burggraaf.

The dinner event will be held at Atkinson’s island restaurant (150 Madrone Lane North), and will feature springtime recipes from the book.

Tickets are on sale now, the cost is $175 per couple or $100 per person.

The ticket price includes one copy of the book.
