If you’re a male fiddler crab, one of your biggest concerns is how to grab and keep the attention of all those lady crabs. Males will use competition, deception and exaggeration as techniques in their advertisement and salesmanship attempts.

IslandWood welcomes John Christy from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute who has spent more than 30 years studying the science of sexual selection involving these charismatic crabs.

Those interested in zoology and animal behavior will delight in this complex story of boy meets girl in the crab world.

The cost is $5.
