Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory hosts ‘When Galaxies Collide’

Gravity draws galaxies together. What happens when they collide? Our nearest galactic neighbor is heading straight for us at 250,000 mph! Astronomer Steve Ruhl will look at what is going to happen at the planetarium show “When Galaxies Collide,” coming at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8 at Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory at Battle Point Park.

The show is free to members of the Battle Point Astronomical Association; $2 donation suggested for nonmembers, $5 for families.

There will also be a special kids show, “The Lives of Stars,” from 4 to 6 p.m. with Dr. Erica.

If the sky is clear, astronomers will be on hand with telescopes.
