Best Bets for June 9–11 | The Bainbridge Blab

If the Comey hearing has you reciting quotes from “Paradise Lost,” like, “Me miserable! which way shall I fly, Infinite wrath, and infinite despair?” Perhaps it’s time to take a break for the weekend.

BIMA BASH: On Friday get over to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art for the fourth annual BIMA BASH at 6 p.m. Art lovers one and all will rejoice at the opportunity to help raise funds for the museum and also go home with some one-of-a-kind pieces of art. There will be auction items for every budget including beautiful paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, garden art, jewelry, one of kind art pieces, and experiences. Check out bimabash.com for more information on auction items.

Bear Market Riot: On Saturday Hop in the Microbus and head out onto the sunny open road with the infectious, chunky tunes of Bear Market Riot at 8 p.m. at the Treehouse Café.

Bear Market Riot is “power-folk” and Americana music from California’s Central Coast, made up of Kirk Nordby (who grew up on the island, Bainbridge High School class of 2005) and Nick Motil.

On Sunday head on over Bainbridge Cinemas and catch the Best Shorts from the Twist Tops Film Festival at noon, followed by “Check It” at 2 p.m. “Check It” is a documentary which follows the lives of gay and trans teens in Washington, D.C. who have formed a gang in order to protect eachother.

Spend the rest of your Sunday settling in and getting comfortable for your week to come, because my friend, your weekend is long gone.
