To the editor:

During the month of March, Woodward Leadership class held a clothing drive for the Syrian refugees.

We collected clothes from classrooms everyday during sixth period. We created videos and posters to help promote the drive. On April 9, we held a very productive drop off-day where people around the island could drop off donated clothing and household goods.

Woodward Leadership class would like to thank everybody who donated their used clothing and household items.

We especially want to thank the Bainbridge Island community members who volunteered their time during the island-wide drop-off day. Thanks to you, we brought in more than 11,500 pounds, surpassing our goal of 10,000 pounds, and had lots of fun in the process.

Having several generations of people helping was such an amazing experience. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to participate in the community wide event and help do your part to mend the world.
