Vancil is generous and trustworthy | Letters | Aug. 28

I have known Debbie Vancil for 30 years as a mother, Bainbridge Island City Council member, businesswoman and planning commissioner.

She advocates for many of the qualities of island life that I treasure: the environment, transportation and many issues not known to everyone. She is as a problem-solver and a mediator.

She does not fear asking the tough questions and requires accountability. Many of us in the community enjoy the benefits of her successes every day.

Debbie is a familiar face in the Bainbridge Island Senior Center and effectively, as a liaison, gives input into senior issues before the City Council.

She willingly responds all times of the day and evening to make our senior center a place that can enhance not only the lives of the most active seniors but also be there for the most vulnerable.

Debbie has shared her experiences and her generous heart with our senior community.

I ask you to give her your vote to allow her to continue as a councilperson and leader in our new council-manager government. She has an established record of experience and trust.

Joan B. Treacy,

Vice-president
