To the editor:

Thank you island residents and others, who attended and supported the newest venture of exposing artists, and their artistic talents during the Bainbridge Island Working Studios premier summer event.

The celebration was a grand success; we applaud you!

BIWS enriches the lives of people who live on and visit Bainbridge Island, by introducing artists in their working studio spaces.  Visitors, seeing how art is created, develop an appreciation for quality art. By spending time together, artists and patrons develop personal connections, which introduces the understanding of art and stimulates creative growth.

BIWS is a way of connecting working artists and their studios with the public year round, to educate, inspire and provide an opportunity to see art and artists in their element. We anticipate having collaborative and independent openings several times a year.

Bainbridge Island is home to artists working in wood, clay, glass, metal and more. We encourage you to continue to connect with the many artists that call Bainbridge Island home. Visit our open weekends or plan a private visit to see what goes on behind the scenes in an artist studio.

Again, we sincerely thank you.
