To the editor:

I want to thank the city of Bainbridge for an outstanding finish to the extensive upgrade, started by the community five years ago.

The upgrade kept our court from moving to Poulsbo.

Now the city has painted all the interior, replaced the linoleum in the bathroom, new toilet, new cabinets with sinks, one in the bathroom, the other in the jury room. The jury room also has cabinets above with space for dishes and a microwave.

New fans and a new light over the sink in the bathroom, also ground faults, receptacles as per code. They replaced the ceiling tiles where necessary.

The courtroom is decorated with pictures from early times in Rolling Bay and the Island.

So now we have one of the safest and nicest courts in the state of Washington. I also want to thank Judge Sara McCulloch and Telma Hauth and her staff for keeping everything so nice.

Thank you, city of Bainbridge Island, the community and the court.

We will have a 25-year open house from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20. This will be open to the public who would like to tour the courthouse.
