To the editor:

A new study from the Sightline Institute shows that Initiative 732 can reduce climate change emissions and make Washington state taxes less regressive at the same time.

I-732 taxes what we don’t want (climate emissions) and gives the money back to us in the form of a lower sales tax and a tax credit for low-income working families. It also protects manufacturing jobs.

I-732 can help us transition to a clean fuel economy by creating economic incentives that point in the right direction. And it is something we can do now to fight climate change. Sounds good to me.
