To the editor:

This community recently lost Bob Cederwall, and the arts and culture organizations of Bainbridge Island lost a true friend.

Bob was a great supporter of arts and culture, from his many performances at Bainbridge Performing Arts to never missing an opening at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts. He supported Kids Discovery Museum, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Bainbridge Chorale, the Library and every group in between. He served on boards, volunteered endlessly, and participated in the arts with many island organizations.

Bobby, we miss you already.

Aside from the work he put into our organizations, he gave continuing support and encouragement to artists of all kinds. His wife, the artist Denise Harris, has created so many beautiful pieces, sometimes in partnership with Bob. “He made you feel like you could do anything,” said Susie Burdick who worked with Bob and Denise for many years at BPA.

Bob’s contributions will never be forgotten. He enriched our lives and made us better people. His wonderful sense of humor and genuine love for his friends made us all so happy. We will continue to honor his memory by creating, getting involved, supporting arts and culture, and always remembering to laugh.
