Bainbridge Rotary earns praise for auction access | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:
My wife is disabled and attending to her accessibility issues have typically made me a squeaky wheel in public as I am constantly having to explain to folks why they shouldn’t park in the handicapped space, etc.
When we first moved to the island we attended the Rotary Auction but the lack of disabled parking and the drop-off/street parking “fun” kept us away.
Well, I returned to the auction this year to get a bike for my daughter. While the drop-off/street parking was still “fun,” I did notice that the Rotary was now providing disabled parking.
I want to recognize the Rotary and THANK THEM. As the auction gets bigger every year, they now have accommodations for our disabled participants.
Good for you, Rotary. I know this could not have been easy along with all of the other auction responsibilities. You did a very good thing and this time someone noticed!
