To the editor:

On behalf of the Bainbridge Island Garden Club, I’d like to thank you for your recent coverage of our annual plant sale on May 12.

We are a nonprofit group, and the plant sale is our only fundraiser. From it, we have been able to award scholarships to deserving Bainbridge Island graduating seniors.

This year, the $1,000 award was presented to Connor Winship, a senior from Bainbridge Island High School who is planning to study viticulture.

Thank you for supporting our community outreach program with your articles and publicity.
