Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre School is now accepting registration for the fall 2016 quarter.

BPA Theatre School has a lot in store for the coming season, said incoming director of education Liz Ellis.

“We’re going to continue the strong program we’ve had for Pre-K through Middle School, and we’ll expand on our teen and adult education,” she noted. “This will allow students to build on the skills and knowledge they’ve acquired growing up with us, and it will make them ready to step into any role in any theater to which they might travel.”

Fall classes include:

“Creative Drama: ’20,000 Leagues Beneath the Sea’” and “Creative Drama: ‘Around the World in 80 Days’” for ages 4 to 7;

“Intro to Musical Theatre – ‘A Christmas Story’” for grades 1 to 3;

“Introduction to Playwriting” and “Dancing in Character” for grades 5 to 8;

“Baron Munchausen” for grades 2 to 4 and “Tales of the Heroine Atalanta” for grades 5 to 8 as part of the BPA Theatre School’s Performance Series;

“Teen Intensive: Shakespeare” for ages 13 to 20; and four star-studded workshops for teens and adults, including “The Actor’s Tool Belt with Dinah Manoff, “Lifetime Theatre: Building a Dramatic Portfolio” (for ages 50 and older) with Barbara Deering, “The Art of Comedy” with Bhama Roget and “Movement for Theatre” with Helen Heaslip.

Offering year-round classes and camps for students of all ages and experience levels, BPA Theater School has a longstanding tradition of supporting learners of all ages to build the skills and confidence to perform on stage and in everyday life.

Younger students are taught to act, sing and dance while developing the soft skills like teamwork and personal responsibility on which they can call in any classroom, work, or social setting. Teens and adults get the joy of being silly, glamorous or sincere with the added benefit of growing not just their portfolio, but also their poise and tenacity.
