It was super sweet Senior Night for the Bainbridge High School football squad Friday.
The island team scored a 10-7 win against the visitors from Chief Sealth, continuing their streak of being undefeated at home and earning a spot in the Metro League playoffs.
After a slight delay (on account of lightning) the game began and the upperclassmen of the football and cheer squads, as well as the band, were recognized before the Spartans began a low-scoring slog of a matchup against the Seahawks.
Though the visitors led briefly, sneaking in the game’s first touchdown seconds before the end of the half to be up 7-3, the Spartans ultimately emerged victorious.
Next week BHS will look to break a different streak (they’ve yet to win an away game this year) when they travel to play Ballard, the final game of the regular season.
