The Spartans battled back from a one-goal deficit and piled up four unanswered goals to crush Kingston 4-1 in girls varsity soccer Saturday at Bainbridge High’s Memorial Stadium.

Kingston scored first less than two minutes into the contest after the Buccaneers’ Cora Caldis banged a shot off the left post, which then ricochetted off the right post and puttered into the goal.

Spartan senior Ava Heisnger scored the equalizer with an assist from junior Sam Batson at the 27:08 mark, and BHS got the go-ahead goal on an unassisted shot by freshman Ellie Murray.

The scoring then became a senior show. Svetlana Maguire knocked in the Spartans’ third goal of the matchup (Heisinger assist) to put BHS in front 3-1.

Marlie Keasler split the posts for the Spartans final score of the game.
