City should think again before purchase | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

My wife and I often visit a dear friend who resides, since her husband’s death, at Madrona House — a very pleasant place. The narrow road off Madison serves Madrona House and the church off Madison. Parking for these facilities is barely adequate.

Now the city intends to pay too much for a building which has access up the same narrow road to service police and court needs. I presume a light will have to control traffic on and off Madison to accommodate police and court personnel.

This will reduce visitors to Madrona House, and add noisy and frightening sirens.

Don’t buy this property.
