Three divers from the Bainbridge Island Dive Club finished in the top six in their age groups at the Amateur Athletic Union’s recent Red-White-Blue National Qualifier in Beaverton, Oregon.

The Bainbridge club, under Coach Chris Miller, had seven divers represent the team at the qualifier. Divers from Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, and Colorado attended the meet.

Elyse Lipton, Kiernan Liberman, and Brian Taylor from the Bainbridge Island Dive Club qualified for AAU Red-White-Blue Nationals by finishing in the top six of their qualifying age-group event.

The Bainbridge club enjoyed outstanding performances from across the team.

Hannah Raleigh competed on both 1-meter and 3-meter boards in the Novice 9 and under group (four dives), and placed second second on both with scores of 64.80 and 75.50, respectively.

Theresa Raleigh competed in the Open Women’s 1-meter (five dives), and won the event with a score of 171.20.

Georgia Costello competed on the 1-meter board in the Girls 12-13 qualifying age group (seven dives), and took ninth place with a score of 145.55.

Elyse Lipton, Girls 14-15 qualifying age group (eight dives), was eighth on 1-meter and fifth on 3-meter, with scores of 203.25 and 235.95, respectively.

Kiernan Liberman, Henry Sauermann, and Brian Taylor all competed in the Boys 16-17 qualifying age group (10 dives).

Henry Sauermann placed 14th on 1-meter and 13th on 3-meter with scores of 227.70 and 227.65, respectively. Brian Taylor placed sixth on 1-meter with a score of 323.75 and earned ninth place on 3-meter with a score of 280.80. Kiernan Liberman placed fourth on 1-meter with a score of 343.05 and had a third-place platform winners’ finish on 3-meter with a score of 366.70.

The divers will next head to the USA Diving Regional Championships in Mission Viejo, California, on April 26-28.
