Braves win in one-sided romp

SEATTLE – Bishop Blanchet rolled to a 5-0 shutout against Bainbridge in girls varsity soccer in the home opener for the Braves.
The Spartans found themselves in a hole early in the first half after two goals by Blanchet.
Gigi Gallaudet scored with an assist from Payton Neal at the 3:00 mark, while teammate Payton Neal powered a pass from Ellie Schober into the goal four minutes later.
Neal also figured big in the next Blanchet goal, feeding the ball to Katie O’Kane for the third score for the Braves at the 33:00 mark.
Five Braves scored in the contest, with Katie Watt pacing the Braves’ offense late in the match.
Watt scored an unassisted goal at the 38:00 mark, then passed to Shannon Steele for the game’s final score at 62:00.
Blanchet goalkeeper Sadie Kenny earned the shutout for the Braves.
The loss for Bainbridge dropped the Spartans’ overall record to 0-2-2.
