Bainbridge Police reported the following incidents:
Dec. 17
11:17 a.m. A sailboat crashed into a moored vessel at a local marina.
Two witnesses, both of whom were liveaboards, reported hearing loud scraping noises earlier that morning. They saw the offending vessel leave the area quickly. The witnesses notified the marina manager, who later called police.
While inspecting the boat, police noticed two deep scratches which showed through the wood.
The offending boat operator later contacted the victim. The victim gave the suspect’s number to police.
The suspect told police that he switched the boat into neutral and briefly went below deck that morning. When he heard the scraping he noticed the boat was in drive. He told police his anchor did damage to his boat, but he didn’t think there was any damage to the other vessel.
Police informed him that he had to contact the city’s harbormaster and file a Washington Boat Accident Report, detailing the incident.

Officers responded after the business’ lost prevention department attempted to speak with the woman, who wouldn’t cooperate.
She told police she left the store with two books, but she only walked out to check on her dog in her car. She said she was going to come back and pay for the books.
The store’s loss prevention officer observed the woman purchasing some items and taking them out to her car. She then returned to the store and put two books in a red cloth bag and walked out without paying.
The woman was banned from the store and given a citation for third-degree theft, with a Jan. 25 court date. She asked the officer what to do, and he told her he couldn’t advise her, but to make sure she showed up for her court date. Value of the books: $48.61.

The man owns a parcel of land on Yeomalt Point Drive. On Oct. 15, while visiting the property he saw someone had cleared trees and brushes. He went to the neighbor, whose residence is behind the parcel of land, and asked him what happened. The neighbor admitted to hiring a tree cutting service. The case was forwarded to prosecutors and code enforcement.

The woman was pulled over when the blue Lincoln Town Car she was driving was clocked at 49 mph in a 30 mph zone. She told the officer that the car belonged to one of the passengers’ mother.
When the officer ran her drivers license, it came back with a warrant out of Seattle for prostitution. She was placed under arrest.
The passenger, who didn’t have a license, said her mother would allow one of the other passengers to drive home. The officer checked with the mother and confirmed that she had allowed them to use the car.
