Bainbridge Island Rowing will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the new rowing center in Waterfront Park, marking the completion of the first stage of the facility’s construction.

“We anticipate that Mayor Val Tollefsen will be there to speak,” said BIR spokeswoman Peggy Musselwhite. Many rowers and other supporters of aquatic athletics are also expected to attend.
