Bainbridge family celebrates arrival of baby boy

Abigail Knight Arvanitidis and her husband Vasili gave birth to a baby boy named Niko, short for Nikolaos Cooidge Arvanitidis, at Group Health in Seattle on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2013.

Abby, a 1994 Bainbridge High graduate, and her parents Louis (Larry) C. Knight and Marianne E. Wiley are longtime Bainbridge Island residents. Abby’s husband’s parents, Dr. Nikolas and Athena Arvanitidis, came north from Menlo Park, Calif., and Abby’s sister, Ellie Knight, came out from Philadelphia, Pa. were she practices law, to be at Abby’s bedside.

All relatives, as well as Abby’s mother, Marianne, took some time off work to help Abby with Niko, her first newborn, and the Knight-Wiley’s first grandchild.

Marianne’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. William Wiley ­visited Abby and her baby while wintering in the Northwest with its milder climate. They are out west from northern New York state.
