Bremerton ferry will relieve Kingston route

Washington State Ferries will move the 144-car Hyak from Bremerton to the Kingston-Edmonds route, while the Walla Walla is repaired. A private passenger ferry will supplement the remaining car ferry on the Bremerton route beginning Tuesday morning.
According to WSF, the 188-car Walla Walla was pulled from the Kingston route Sunday evening after a routine inspection found damage to one of the boat’s thruster bearings. Repairs are expected to take two weeks.
WSF currently has no working backup ferry so the 188-car Spokane was the only ferry serving Kingston Monday. WSF had been advising Kingston customers to consider using Bainbridge or Bremerton routes.
