NOVEMBER 21
8:59 a.m. A small amount of marijuana was found during a search of a Bainbridge juvenile after he was booked into the county Juvenile Detention Center on multiple charges. The marijuana was found in a prescription medication bottle hidden the the suspect’s crotch area. The juvenile was given an added charge of entering contraband into a secured area.
11:17 a.m. A Winslow Way business reported an attempted burglary. Employees showed officers pry marks where a suspect had apparently tried to peel back moulding around a window in a door. The glass was loose, but it did not appear that entry had been gained. Damage was estimated at $50.

A report was forwarded to the Humane Society for further investigation.
NOVEMBER 22
12:39 p.m. Police responded to the area of Don Palmer Avenue and Vincent Road, where a road rage incident was reported. An officer contacted the driver of a Honda Element, who said he had been accosted by another driver near the fire station on Buckin Hill Road. The driver said he stopped to allow a person on a bicycle and a person with a baby stroller to cross, when a camouflage-painted pickup truck pulled up behind him and began revving its engine. Seeing the truck, the pedestrians did not cross, and the driver of the Honda continued on to Vincent Road. The pickup then tailed the Honda; the Honda’s driver said the pickup pulled alongside at one point, and its driver began swearing at him. The officer told the Honda’s driver that he would contact the pickup’s driver to get his side of the story. The Honda’s driver became angry and demanded that the other driver be arrested, asking why the officer would interview the other driver. “What, is he a buddy, friend of yours?” the man asked. The officer located the truck at a nearby residence and contacted its driver. As he interviewed the driver, the Honda pulled into the driveway, then drove away again. The pickup’s driver said the Honda had been traveling at well below the speed limit, and that the pedestrians they encountered did not appear to want to cross the road. He said the pickup had no working horn, so he had revved his engine in an attempt to get the Honda to move on. He admitted to swearing at the other driver as he drove by and said the driver of the Honda had giggled weakly in reply. The officer returned to the original scene to contact the reporting party but could not find him.
4:03 p.m. An officer ran the license plate number of a Volkswagen traveling on Bergman Road. A records check showed the vehicle’s registration had been revoked because it had been declared a total loss following a collision. The man said he bought the vehicle back from his insurance company following the collision and was unaware that he needed to have the vehicle inspected and re-licensed. The was cited for failing to obtain a new license.
NOVEMBER 23
10:30 a.m. A Volvo traveling north on North Madison Avenue drifted over the fogline and struck a culvert, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle skidded across Windsong Loop and came to rest on a grassy patch on the side of the road. No injuries were reported, and only the vehicle sustained damage. The car was towed.
8:50 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a Ford van with a defective license plate light on northbound on SR-305. The van’s driver ignored the patrol car’s lights and turned onto Manitou Beach Road. The officer shined a spotlight on the van several times and activated the patrol car’s siren. The van finally made a gradual stop at Murden Cove Road and the driver was contacted. The officer noted an odor of alcohol in the vehicle, despite the freshly lit cigarette the driver was smoking. The man appeared intoxicated and said he was on his way home from a Winslow bar. The officer asked the man for his license, registration and proof of insurance. The man responded by attempting to hand his entire wallet to the officer. The man said he had drunk three drinks at the bar, and “a couple” prior to that. Following a breath test he was arrested for driving under the influence. A search of his person turned up a bag containing a small amount of marijuana which the man said was very old marijuana. Nothing illegal was found in the van. A marijuana cigarette was found on the man during a subsequent search at Kitsap County Jail. He was booked for driving under the influence and marijuana possession. Bail was set at $6,000.
NOVEMBER 24
12:13 p.m. A Bainbridge woman reported that $1,888 worth of purchases had fraudulently made using her credit card. All the purchases were made at a Wal-Mart in Texas.
12:34 a.m. An officer stopped a Toyota with expired license tabs on Madrona Way and contacted its driver. The officer noted an odor of marijuana and alcohol through the driver’s window. The man said he had drunk two mixed drinks prior to driving. He denied having marijuana in the vehicle but said he had been with friends earlier who perhaps had been using marijuana. The man was arrested. A K9 unit was called in to search the vehicle, and sniffed out a jar containing a small amount of marijuana. As the man was released he admitted to having been in a crowd of people near Docs Marina Grill who were smoking marijuana. A report was forwarded to prosecutors.
1:11 p.m. A citizen turned in a gold ring with five embedded diamonds found on a sidewalk near the American Marine Bank.
