The Bainbridge High School Spartan marching band competed in the Peninsula Classic Marching Band Competition at Silverdale Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28. Marching against bands from all over Washington, the Spartans persevered through torrential rain and high winds to place third in their division.

The band is performing a Star Trek medley this season, arranged by and adapted for marching band by Don Neptun of Puyallup. Chris Thomas is the band director, with drum majors Will Brown and Aila Ikuse leading on the field. Alyssa Mitchell directs the color guard, assisted by recent BHS graduate Amanda Swanson.

Due to the wild weather, the competition cancelled the parade of bands scheduled for the end of the evening, leaving the drum majors to accept awards.

The band performs at all home football games and will be competing next at the Everett Classic Marching Band Competition on Saturday, Oct. 26.
