Join children’s book illustrator Pierr Morgan for “Imagine: A Playful Process” — a visit by the author where she’ll discuss her history, influences and artistic practice.
The talk is the latest edition of Bainbridge Island Museum of Arts’s Eye on Artist Lecture Series, and runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Following the talk, light refreshments will be served in the Orientation and MESA Galleries, where Morgan will also be on hand to sign books.
A Seattle native, Morgan studied illustration and painting at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
She has contributed to more than 22 children’s books, including “The Squiggle,” “Cool Time Song,” “Someone Says” and “ABCers,” all collaborations with author Carole Lexa Schaefer.
Morgan’s BIMA exhibit features original book illustrations, gouache and mixed media paintings, and archival pieces from her personal collection.
Admission to the event is free for students; however, they are encouraged to reserve spots in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets for adults cost $6 and can also be purchased online.
