Bainbridge man joins Children of the Nations

Children of the Nations, a Silverdale-based nonprofit, recently announced the recent appointment of Bainbridge Island resident Mark W. Costa as its national director of marketing for the United States.

Costa resides on Bainbridge Island along with his wife of 29 years and their high school-aged son.

In this capacity, Costa will oversee all elements of internal and external marketing communications, community media relations, and strategic event planning.

“The COTN organization has blossomed and is rapidly growing,” said COTN’s Chief Operating Officer Elisa Goodwin.

“The need to provide quality support is greater today than ever before. As a result, it was essential that we source a trailblazer in the marketing genre,” she said. “Mark’s unique skillset will afford Children of the Nations the opportunity to take a forward step in developing and implementing a strategic marketing and communications plan while being mindful of brand development.

During his celebrated career, Costa held senior management positions within the nonprofit, tourism, and hospitality sectors. He has worked for such industry giants as Dallas-based ClubCorp of America, Royal Caribbean International/Celebrity Cruises, and American Classic Voyages. Most recently he served as chief marketing officer for the Gateway organization, including Gateway Christian Schools and Gateway Fellowship in Poulsbo.

Aside from his professional achievements, Costa has received distinguished recognition for outstanding community service in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors from the United States Congress, California State Senate, California State Assembly, and the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.

Costa presently serves as the 2015 Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce President and Director of Youth Services for the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island.
