Spartans squeak to 49-47 win against Lakeside

A win on the road Tuesday stopped a four-game slump as the Bainbridge High School boys varsity basketball team scored a 49-47 win against Lakeside in Seattle.

It was the island team’s first win since they bested Franklin on Jan. 4.

The success upped the Spartans’ overall season record to 6-10 (4-8 in conference). They are ranked eighth in the Metro standings (fourth in the Mountain Division).

Four games remain on the schedule, two to be played at home. The Spartans will remain on the road Friday, Jan. 24 to play Nathan Hale, then return to Paski Gymnasium at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 to host Ingraham.

The final home game of the year begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, when the Spartans play Lincoln (Seattle).
