Deadline nears for nominations for 2018 Women of Achievement

The deadline is approaching for nominations for the 2018 Women of Achievement awards.
Women from Kitsap Country can be nominated in several categories and the awards will be presented to winners at the 29th Annual YWCA Women of Achievement Awards Dinner at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort on April 20.
The event celebrates and honors extraordinary women in the community, according to Rory Jansen, chairman of the event. Nominations can be made in the following categories: Arts Culture and Design, Business/Finance, Education, Environmental Sustainability, Health and Wellness, Public Service and the YWCA Mission Award for Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women.
Nominations can be made at www.ywcakitsap.org and must be submitted by noon Friday, Feb. 23. Nominees must live or have lived in Kitsap County and performed the work she is being nominated for in Kitsap County.

The event will also include the presentation of YWCA Women of Achievement Alumnae scholarship and the YWCA Carol Arends Memorial Scholarship. Scholarship Applications are available at www.ywcakitsap.org and are also available at local high schools and the Olympic College campuses.
The awards dinner will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 20 at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort. Tickets for the event are $85 per person or $650 for a table of eight. Event sponsorships from $500 to $5,000 are also available for the event and are a great way of showing public support for the YWCA of Kitsap County and its work to address domestic violence and its impact on our community.
