BAINBRIDGE – Getting back into the win column wasn’t a cake walk.
But the Spartans certainly frosted the Braves in girls varsity volleyball as Bainbridge beat Bishop Blanchet in a five-set thriller late last week.
The Spartans prevailed 3-2, with scores of 25-21, 17-25, 25-14, 22-25 and 15-10.
Spartan Coach Dominique Atherley said her team battled hard with multiple lead changes and momentum shifts, and credited both teams for playing great games.
Taylor Jumpa stepped off the bench for Bainbridge to provide the Spartans with two aces, 10 kills and 16 digs.
Maggie Sweeney had 22 kills and 19 digs for BHS.
The big win came on the heels of the Spartans’ only loss this year, to Eastside Catholic early last week.
