SEATTLE – A somewhat sour season for the Bainbridge Spartans ended on an up note as the girls varsity soccer team notched another tie in its last game of the season against Ingraham, then followed that with a win over Chief Sealth in the first game of the post season.

The Spartans drew even against the Rams, 1-1, in a Metro League battle late last week in Seattle. It was the third tie for the season this year for Bainbridge, and came via a penalty kick from the Spartans’ Ellie VanSlyke.

In the Metro League tournament at Memorial Stadium in Seattle last Saturday, the Spartans rolled to their first win this year with a 1-0 victory over Chief Sealth.

Kate Mackin scored the game-winner for the Spartans.

Bainbridge’s luck ran out in the next game against Holy Names on Tuesday, as the Cougars forged a 3-0 win.
