SEATTLE – The Bainbridge Spartans powered their way into the postseason with a 3-1 win against Seattle Prep in girls varsity volleyball late last week.
Spartan Coach Holly Rohrbacher said the Spartans came up big in a clutch match and played great.
Bainbridge closed out the season with a 4-6 record in the Metro League (8-7 overall).
The Spartans now turn their attention to the 3A Metro District Volleyball Tournament, which started earlier this week in Seattle.
Bainbridge was scheduled to play Chief Sealth (5-4 Metro, 7-7 overall) in the first round of the tournament.
The Spartans brought the Seahawks down to earth with a 3-1 win. Grace Cisneros led Bainbridge with 13 kills.
Following that matchup, the road got tougher for Bainbridge, with a date with Roosevelt (9-0 Metro, 11-2 overall) late Thursday.
The Rough Riders faced Cleveland (0-9, 1-11) on Oct. 25, with the loser of the Cleveland-Roosevelt game facing the loser of the Bainbridge-Chief Sealth game in a loser-out battle on Oct. 27.
