Bainbridge blotter | Police find stolen bike

TUESDAY, SEPT. 13

10:47 a.m. A 50-year-old Bainbridge Island man reported the theft of a bicycle from his garage on Sunrise Drive NE.

The bike must have been stolen, he said, sometime during the Labor Day weekend. He had returned from out of town and found it missing. The bike was valued at about $1,000.

Police told him that a similar bike had been recently discovered, apparently abandoned, by the city’s parking enforcement officer at a nearby address. After confirming that the recovered bike was in fact his, the man began procedures to retrieve it from police custody.
