IslandWood graduate program is hidden gem | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

As a precinct caucus secretary and voter in Washington state, I am making time to encourage every voter to fill out their primary ballot and drop it off at drop boxes by Tuesday, May 24. Washington is a three-step process in its voting for the presidential campaign.

Just because Bernie Sanders won 73 percent of the caucus votes does not mean the Democratic Party has to honor that. They can chose to honor the primary results instead, so it is important that you vote with your primary ballot. Please check a party affiliation for this ballot. It is only for the purpose of this primary. If you skip this step, your vote will not be counted.

The political parties retain the authority to decide if they will use the Presidential Primary to allocate delegates to the national nomination convention. The political parties may also use a combination of primary results and caucus results.

While there are six delegates from our community who are working hard to be delegates for Bernie Sanders at the national convention, please stay active yourself in reinforcing our statewide majority of support for the Bernie Sanders campaign. Each step in the process needs your continued participation and your vote.
