Spartronics give thanks to island | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

I attended the Assistance Dogs of Hawaii Public Participation Meeting on March 1.

I was excited to meet the program founders, Mo and Will Mauer, to learn more about this wonderful program and, most of all, what was planned for the new Bainbridge facility. Little did I know that 90 minutes later I’d leave feeling ashamed to live on this island.

It is totally understandable that homeowners in the Stetson Ridge neighborhood would have questions and concerns regarding non-residential use of property bordering their community.

However, it was the nastiness, rudeness, and vitriol from a number of the homeowners that shocked me.

Is the Donald Trump “I can say anything I want” brand of communication alive and well on the island?
