I’m voting yes, and you should too | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

I love working with my students at BHS. I’ve worked there as a paraeducator for the past 11 years, and I spend a great deal of my time in the old 100 Building.

I am well acquainted with the shortcomings of this 45-year-old building — the plumbing and electrical problems, the inadequate facilities for our special education students and the erratic heating and cooling systems. I also see the limitations this building imposes on students in the art, culinary, technology and drama programs at the high school.

The proposed bond would remedy this situation, as well as providing a much-needed new Blakely Elementary school and providing funds to do the necessary repairs and maintenance to keep our schools as one of the best in the state and nation.

I will be voting in favor of the bond and I urge you to do the same.
