Island is defined by quality schools | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

We live on an Island that values family and community. Supporting the school district’s bond proposal to fund the construction of a new Blakely Elementary School and replace the 100 Building at BHS will help strengthen both.

I am grateful both our children benefited from a K-12 education on Bainbridge and know that they will build their future lives in the Pacific Northwest because of the core beliefs they learned here.

Upgrading and maintaining our schools helps all of us. Our children benefit from a passionate education, our community benefits with responsible young adults and our property values benefit from the association with a state-acclaimed school district.

For a total net tax increase to the median priced home of $15 per month, we can help guarantee that our Island will continue to be known for its great school system. Our support will help students learn in safe buildings, our teachers to obtain the tools needed to advance technology education and our community to grow stronger with the post-graduation successes of our young adults.

Please vote YES on the 2016 school bond to support the excellent education that benefits us all.
