BHS 100, Blakely are in poor shape | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

The rather condemning letter of the DeSpain’s zipline project in the latest Review contended it would have a “profound” impact on the flora and fauna of the Island (Hartstone Letter, Jan. 1).

I have only been on a few ziplines, but my impression of them is that they tend to celebrate nature, not quash it; that is their appeal after all. Meanwhile the legal alternative uses of the property are likely to be far more impactful. Hopeful the environmental study recommended in the letter will focus on that comparison.
